Think Love could’ve helped? Let’s see. The 16th-year veteran is averaging 9.7 points and seven rebounds through six playoff games, both of which would’ve ranked about third – third-leading scorer Evan Mobley averaged 9.8 points – on Cleveland’s roster during the first round. And Love is doing so while playing 14 fewer minutes than any Cav who would rank above him.
“He gives us another guy who’s been in the moments, who’s made big shots, who’s been in big situations, who’s had ups and downs in his career,” Lowry said. “It gives us another joyful guy, a guy who laughs and smiles and gives some type of different perspective on the court and off the court.” Even now, it might be early to call Love’s recent uptick a resurgence.
