OPINION: The winemaker is one of several Australian producers who are making wine their way, in France.
Sydney wine impresario Len Evans and business partner Peter Fox caused a stir among Bordelais high society when they bought two châteaux in Bordeaux in the late 1970s, and Hardys ruffled more French feathers in the Languedoc when it bought Domaine de la Baume near Béziers a decade later.

The Melbourne-born winemaker’s first vintage in the region was in 1998. After returning to Australia to work in the wine trade, she moved back to Beaune permanently in 2004, and established her own eponymouslabel in 2011, buying grapes from growers, rather than owning her own vineyards.
