A popular Perth nightclub will soon ban patrons from wearing red shoes in a bid to stamp out troublemakers. 7NEWS
Pages, who said the look had been “gaining momentum” in Perth and Australia over the last 18 months, did not think the move was discriminatory.
“Unfortunately when these people are dealt with or refused entry or they’ve been asked to leave a large percentage of the time they have red shoes on,” Pages said. Pages said people donning these sneakers often have an “attitude to things” or carry a “tough guy” vibe about themselves.“I’ll chat to those people and a lot of them are repeat customers every week so I get along with them,” Pages said.
“I know what they’re like so sometimes it’s just a case of saying to them if they’re acting up ‘you need to pull your head in’.” “Eshay” is a slang term tied to a section of urban youth subculture favouring sportswear and often displaying a tough guy demeanour.
