An Adelaide Hills resident is charged with deception over an alleged bushfire scam, with police claiming she posed as a victim of the Cudlee Creek blaze in order to garner donations.
An Adelaide Hills woman has been arrested after she allegedly posed as a victim of the Cudlee Creek fire to claim donations intended for those who lost property in the deadly blaze.She is accused of posing as a bushfire victim at a church and in shopsPolice said the 39-year-old from Murray Bridge falsely claimed to be a victim of the bushfire to"obtain donations to the value of $300" from a local church.
She was arrested on Friday and charged with deception and has been bailed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court in February.
