Emergency services are looking for two children seen “in distress” in Floyd Bay in Lansvale. A woman was pulled from the water but could not be revived.
A woman has died and police are searching for two children reportedly seen “in distress” in a waterway in Sydney’s south-west.
NSW Police said emergency services were called to a Floyd Bay boat ramp off Hollywood Drive in Lansvale about 10.15am on Saturday “after a woman and two children were seen in the water in distress”.“A short time later a woman was pulled from the water, however, she was unable to be revived,” police said. “An extensive search is currently under way involving multiple agencies including police, Marine Area Command, PolAir and SES for two children believed to be in the water.
Police had no further information to provide about the incident, including how the trio came to be in the water or the ages of those involved. Police boats and jet skis could be seen searching the area on Saturday as the SES launched vessels and multiple helicopters flew overhead. The local car parks and streets are also lined with emergency services.A report will be prepared for the coroner.
