BREAKING: A man is under police guard after a woman was found dead with multiple stab wounds in a Wollongong home this morning.
Officers made the horror discovery after they arrested a man who attempted to flee a random breath test station on Nicholson St.
After speaking with the man, other officers went to the Campbell St home where they found a 51-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds.The street has been cordoned off as crime scene investigators collect evidence and canvass for witnesses. Wollongong police Inspector Angela Burnell called the woman’s death a “tragic start to the New Year”.“Crime scene investigators are continuing with their inquiries. Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.”
