A woman tragically died in the horror smash, and a baby has been rushed to hospital. 9News
Police believed a vehicle left Geelong-Bacchus Marsh Road in Balliang East and struck a tree just after 2.15pm today.
The two occupants, a female driver and a baby, are yet to be formally identified. The woman died at the scene.The baby received minor injuries and is being taken to hospital.Transport authorities have closed Geelong-Bacchus Marsh Road in both directions and are advising drivers to avoid the area."This closure is under Victoria Police control. The road will re-open when investigations are complete and it's safe to do so.
