Chitsidzo (Veronica) Chinyanga was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary but sadly died
A woman who died following a disturbance in Broxburn has been named as Chitsidzo Chinyanga from Zimbabwe.The 42-year-old was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where she sadly later died.He was due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court today.
Her family has released a statement through Police Scotland and said: “Veronica was a much loved mum, sister, niece and mother to all, who will be missed dearly by many.The Scottish Ambulance Service said they had sent out an ambulance, a trauma team and special operations after receiving the call at 8.02pm and they arrived at the scene by 8.11pm.
The area was cordoned off by police as they carried out an investigation to establish the full circumstances. Detective Chief Inspector Craig Higgins added: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died and we’ll do all we can to support them at this very difficult time. “I’d like to thank the local community for their help and patience while enquiries are carried out. There will be a continued police presence in the area but I want to reassure everyone, this is an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to the public. However, anyone who does have concerns can speak to officers.”
