Corporate sponsor Visa is celebrating the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup by launching a new grants program to support women-owned businesses.
Ticket sales have been a surprising boon for World Cup organisers, with over one million tickets sold for the 64 matches across co-hosts Australia and New Zealand.
Team Australia, led by sporting superstar Sam Kerr, has undoubtedly helped drum up excitement for the World Cup and tickets for the Matildas’ opening clash with the Republic of Ireland sold out months ago. According to a Visa survey, over 90 per cent of Australian female business owners said sports participation has had a positive impact on their business success.
