Southampton have closed the gap on second from 12 points to four in the last 11 days with chances against Leeds United and Leicester City to make it even tighter
Twelve points was the chasm between Southampton and second place in the Championship on April 6, with two games in hand. Eleven days later the gap now stands at four points to Leicester City, with the same games played.
“It was a brilliant performance with some really beautiful stuff,” he said. “It has been a big week for us. "It's a big step forward from Saturday. We need to learn again from this what's going to be important for this Saturday now."
