A group of university students has faced heavy criticism after a video appeared online showing them shaming two drag queens.
The president of the University of Queensland's Liberal National Club chanted - "drag queens are not for kids" at a children's story time event in Brisbane. The mob surrounded the drag queen before a security guard removed them from the event.
Queensland Opposition leader Deb Frecklington said the UQ branch – which has been disendorsed by the LNP – did not represent party values. LNP MP Tim Mander also said the club was not affiliated with the LNP and was “using our brand without permission”.
