A man dubbed the "Balenciaga bikie" has been taken into custody after warrants for his arrest were issued in two states over an alleged assault. Tarek Zahed was arrested at a property in Dundas Valley with the help of Raptor Squad on Friday night, NSW Police said.
Zahed has been transferred into the custody of the Department of Corrective Services NSW and will be questioned by police.A former bikie who survived an assassination attempt that killed his brother has been taken into custody after warrants for his arrest were issued across two states. Tarek Zahed — dubbed the "Balenciaga Bikie" — was arrested at a property in Dundas Valley with the help of the Raptor Squad on Friday night, NSW Police said. At the property, officers searched a car and allegedly found $12,800 in cash, which was seized for further inquiries.He has since been transferred into the custody of the Department of Corrective Services NSW. The 45-year-old was wanted since the end of last month on an outstanding revocation of parole warrant which was issued in NSW and Victoria. In May 2022, Zahed and his brother Omar were the targets of an ambush at a gym in Auburn in Sydney's west.Tarek Zahed took up to 10 bullets, including one to the head, but survived the shooting that killed his younger sibling.State Crime Commander and Assistant NSW Police Commissioner, Michael Fitzgerald, said at the time the Zaheds had ignored "suggestions and recommendations" from authorities to leave the state.
