Buying a home is hard, but Aussies are thinking outside the box with tiny homes, relocatables, and caravans

Would you live in a tiny home? What about a caravan on a farm stay? Here are the ways some Australians are getting a foot on the property ladder.

When Isabel Coll looks out over the block of land she and her partner have recently purchased, she pictures what her mornings will look like in the future.

"When we were looking at just building a house, it was going be $550,000 just for the house, not even including the land," she said.Ms Coll said she had been fortunate to live at home with her parents, which had allowed her to save up for a deposit. "Prices have inflated so enormously in housing in Australia that the traditional solutions aren't really working for more and more people," Mr Fotheringham said.When they passed through the central Queensland coastal town of Yeppoon, they fell in love.

Mr Fotheringham said although the trend of getting the feel for a place before buying a home was not new, having to do so in a caravan was an "interesting twist".
