Friends say Coral Seinor and Thelma Clausen, who died in a crash on the Brand Highway last Friday, looked for 'any excuse' to organise a party and were founding members of their local Country Women's Association.
Coral Seinor and Thelma Clausen were killed in a crash on Brand Highway near Cooljarloo last Friday.Close friends for decades, Coral Seinor and Thelma Clausen did most things together — raising their children, running a business, finding any excuse for a party, and founding the Jurien Bay branch of the Country Women's Association.
Pauline Ward first met the pair when she moved to Jurien Bay in 1978, and Thelma Clausen was on the neighbouring farm."We had many fun times celebrating just about anything like royal weddings, births of all the babies — anything that was an excuse for us to get together with our other friends."She said she felt "disbelief, devastation, a terrible sense of loss, just the worst" when she heard they had died.
"They ran a successful catering business together, they were both very good cooks and hosts, no one ever went hungry at any of their events," she said."From the moment we arrived in Jurien over 50 years ago they were there to help, advise or just be our friends," Helen Fauntleroy wrote.
