Zoe, a 25-year-old dancer from Port Lincoln, fulfilled her lifelong dream of joining The Wiggles after years of dedication to her craft. Inspired by watching The Wiggles with her autistic brother as a child, Zoe's passion for dance and performance blossomed, leading her to pursue professional training and eventually land a role with the beloved children's group.
With her older brother, Kosta, Zoe would watch them at least once a day, every day, and dance around the lounge room, mimicking the dance numbers on their television.
"Being in a household with Kosta on the autism spectrum, he was obsessed with The Wiggles, so the Karatzovalis household just grew up watching it every single day and learning from it," she said.Years of dance saw her become comfortable on the stage and cast in Port Lincoln High School's Wizard of Oz pantomime."I became that scarecrow in and out, and then I went on to win the Pantomime Award, which was really, really cool.
Just before the first lockdown, she began working as a support worker in the disability sector, which was something Zoe was always passionate about. After being offered the chance to audition, Zoe dressed the part with her hair in pigtails and a purple T-shirt in honour of her favourite Wiggle, Jeff, and danced her heart out.
