The Victorian Coroner as urged precaution at Australian beaches following an investigation into the drownings of four family members in Phillip Island in January.
Kane Treloar provided to the investigation found a review of air-wing footage from the day of the incident showed a "single primary rip that was in effect at the time of the incident" at Forrest Caves Beach.
In examining a potential lack of warning signs, the coroner's investigator Sergeant Leigh Cole found "signage with general beach warnings was prominently displayed" at the entry site to the beach. Ms Gebert also said that "clear signage warning of risks alone is inadequate" and pointed to work being done to address drowning risks for people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
