Bree James, who is contesting the Queensland seat of Barron River, says she has been reprimanded by her party after referring to her 'German heritage' while posing next to a banner of herself with a Hitler moustache graffitied on it.
Bree James posted a photo of herself standing next to a banner defaced with a Hitler moustache and included a caption saying "Even my banner is getting in the spirit and celebrating my German heritage." Barron River incumbent Craig Crawford is tipped to lose the seat on Saturday, but Ms James concedes the banner controversy may cost her votes.
At a pre-poll booth in the electorate this week, Ms James said she had deservedly been reprimanded by LNP leader David Crisafulli. Labor holds Barron River on a 3.1 per cent margin and a predicted swing would see it change hands on Saturday."Bree James is unfit for office," Mr Crawford said."It could happen, but I hope people realise the hard work I've done for the last 13 months and that I'm human," she said.
Premier Steven Miles said he "would certainly have reprimanded a candidate" if they had done the same thing.
