NRL: After Dragons captain Ben Hunt was released from the club there is now reports that Eels captain Clint Gutherson could be released to join the Red V.

Broncos star Ezra Mam will not be deregistered by the NRL, but is set to face a massive suspension for his positive road side drug test after a car accident .reported the NRL and Brisbane Broncos look set to give Mam a second chance as they await the outcome of a Queensland police probe .

The 21-year-old went to rehab following discussions with his management and Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy. The Broncos, NRL and Queensland police have launched probes into the accident with Mam facing a lengthy suspension of up to one year. However, NRL CEO Andrew Abdo and ARLC boss Peter V’landys are prepared to give the Broncos No.6 another chance. The NRL has the power to deregister players, but this course of action appears unlikely.

Once he leaves rehab, Mam could be ordered to front Abdo, similar to a case involving Broncos teammate Kotoni Staggs following a drunken off-field incident in 2021.The NRL integrity unit will await the conclusion of the Queensland police investigation, but Mam is facing a suspension of up to 12 weeks, with the Broncos resigned to not having their No.1 five-eighth for at least the opening two months of the 2025 season.
