A 13-year-old girl wants to confront the man who subjected her to a horrific five-hour sexual assault ordeal after she was abducted while walking to school.
Prosecutor Lee Carr SC told the Newcastle District Court the girl wanted to read her victim impact statement in front of Brett David Hill during his sentence hearing.
Judge Roy Ellis said he would watch a prerecorded video interview between police and the girl conducted in May before Hill arrived. Hill pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated kidnapping, seven counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 16 and one count of possessing child abuse material.
