3,000 black-lipped oysters have been stolen from a remote estuary in Western Australia's north-west, disrupting a research project focused on breeding the 'largest and best growing' oysters for commercial sale. The theft, which occurred sometime between the end of October and the end of November, represents 10% of the project's stock. Authorities are investigating the incident and increasing surveillance at the site.
