Hills Shire Mayor Dr Peter Gangemi says the “time for talking’s over” and action is required to raise the Warragamba Dam wall to prevent flooding in the Hawkesbury and Nepean region.
“When it comes to flooding along the Hawkesbury Nepean river, the cost of mitigation will always be less than the cost of recovery in terms of these major floods,” Dr Gangemi told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

ABS to begin monthly CPI reportingThe Australian Bureau of Statistics today said it will begin monthly reporting of inflation from October this year, bringing Australia into line with other nations including the US, the UK, Canada, Japan and Europe. ABS Agency Head Dr David Gruen said this has been on the bureau's 'wishlist' for 'quite some time'.
