Albanese government ‘burning our money’ to promote ‘climate virtue signalling’
Even in a cost of living crisis, the Albanese government is burning our money to promote their own “climate virtue signalling”, says Sky News host Chris Kenny. This comes following the announcement that one-third of the heavy vehicles operating out of Team Global Express’ Western Sydney facility will be electric.
"If a company wants to do this and can make it work, I'm all for it, knock yourselves out, that's great," Mr Kenny said. "The company has bought 60 electric vehicles all up, at a cost of $44 million, so they're investing big time. "But hang on, there's a catch. The federal government, I mean you and me, taxpayers, are kicking in more than $20 million – a company gets 60 brand new trucks, and taxpayers kick in half the cost? "And this is just some of it, apparently – taxpayers have already tipped in a total of $130 million in these schemes to establish some EV fleets."
