After a tip-off, officers searched Mr Shumsky's apartment at a retirement village in Watson's Bay where they allegedly recovered over 100 examples of child abuse material.While the prosecutor argued he should remain in custody due to the seriousness of the charges and the likelihood of jail time - the magistrate released him on bail with strict conditions.

Mr Shumsky must got go near children under the age of 16, or be within 100 metres of areas they frequent including parks. A court heard Mr Shumsky, who is on Newstart, had been seeking treatment for an addiction to child pornography in recent months.
