A protest against coronavirus restrictions has turned violent at the Shrine of Remembrance.
General duties police and members of the public order response team were on the scene, alongside police on horseback.
By 4pm, hundreds of protesters continued to march, with a large police presence monitoring their movements.As the crowd snaked through South Melbourne streets, residents came out to show their support or disgust. There were plenty of young people in the crowd, but overall it was a mixed group. Many people were not wearing masks.Chris Hopkins
