A young man has been shot by police after allegedly making threats in Townsville, north Queensland.

He said police attended and confronted the person, and were forced to fire a number of shots which struck the man.A crime scene will remain in place at the home and surrounding street. Act Supt James said the entire incident was recorded on body cameras worn by the officers and that there was no ongoing threat to the public.
