Police were called out to Manchester Road in Denton at 11am after the reports were received.
A man has been arrested after reports of two groups of men fighting in the street. Armed police officers were called to the scene in Denton, Tameside , on Monday morning after the reports suggested weapons were involved.
It's also understood a nearby school, Denton Community College, was alerted to the developing situation by Greater Manchester Police. Investigations are continuing and police said a man aged in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of driving offences. There have been no reports of any injuries. Greater Manchester Police said it appeared to be 'an isolated incident'.
In a statement, GMP said: "We were called to Manchester Road, Denton, today at around 11am to reports of two groups of males fighting.
