Peter Ritter, 29, and a 30-year-old man, who the ABC is not naming at the request of his family, died at the scene. The lead pilot and the other man who died departed at about 6am for the location where the other two pilots were to meet them. Upon hearing the collision, one of the pilots saw one of the helicopters descend towards his aircraft.The two helicopters involved in the collision had undergone an inspection earlier in July.
