Breaking: Western Australia's border will reopen to interstate and international travellers on February 5, 2022, Premier Mark McGowan has announced. Follow our live coverage:

The trio had separate strains of COVID-19, almost a year apart. In July 2020, the three adults were diagnosed for the first time and two out of the three had mild symptoms, while the third person had no symptoms.Exactly a year later, they were again diagnosed with COVID-19 during the Delta strain. They all had mild symptoms.

Before the emergence of the Omicron variant, second infections were thought to affect fewer than 1 per cent of people. “There’s the feeling [out there] that if I’ve had COVID-19, I don’t need to get vaccinated. With Omicron and the news of that coming through now, particularly the risk of breakthrough infections, I think people are reconsidering,” she said.

Some jurisdictions also require COVID-19 tests after arrival. People travelling to Queensland from interstate hot spots will require a test on day five. Queensland’s borders reopen on Monday, December 13.
