Australians over 30 will be eligible for a fourth COVID-19 jab in an expansion of the national vaccination program.

“We know that protection from vaccination is, relatively speaking, reduced against these new emerging subvariants,” physician and microbiologist Dr Paul Griffin told Sky News Australia.

“But it still provides excellent protection. It will boost our protection against getting infected, getting symptomatic infection and also, most importantly, make it less likely to get severe disease.”
