Andrew Clennell grills Berejiklian on ICAC evidence | Sky News AustraliaSky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell has grilled Premier Gladys Berejiklian on her involvement and knowledge of disgraced former MP Daryl Maguire’s behaviour during their secret relationship. \n\nMs Berejiklian refused to answer questions asking for clarification of evidence she gave the ICAC inquiry on Monday, referring Mr Clennell to her cross-examination for answers. \n\n“Mr Clennell I answered those questions during six hours of public evidence on Monday so I refer you to that,” she said. \n\n“Hand on heart, I have done nothing wrong and I refer everybody to my evidence on Monday.\n\n“Mr Maguire was in parliament for nearly 20 years, many of us trusted him and many of us have been let down by him.' \n\nMr Clennell put to the premier that Mr Maguire left parliament in 2018 due to corruption allegations. \n\n“Why did you not go down to ICAC then or have your lawyer write to ICAC and say ‘I’ve been with this man and I am aware of his land deals’? You are the premier after all,” he asked. \n\n'Can I just say that I have been absolutely overly cooperative with ICAC from the outset, all I can say is you cannot disclose any of the proceedings that happen behind closed doors,' she said. \n\nMr Clennell further pushed her, asking “did you speak to them in 2018?” \n\n“Again I’ve said that it’s important to respect the processes,” she responded. \n\n“What’s the test for you to resign?” Mr Clennell asked. \n\n“When I’ve done something wrong,' Ms Berejiklian said. \n\n\n

ICAC is 'after the Premier' | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Smith says 'ICAC is after Premier Gladys Berejiklian', given disgraced former MP Daryl Maguire is already 'done like a dinner' with his confessions revealing nothing new this week.\n\n'While the pile-on directed at the NSW Premier is intensifying, there is still no evidence of corruption on her part,' he said.\n\n'He's [Maguire's] a long gone, irrelevant, country MP, who could be dealt with by the criminal courts now, without most of this week's hearings at ICAC. It was mostly unnecessary.\n\n'But as I've already said this week, ICAC has launched a fishing expedition in the hope of lucking onto a case of corruption.'\n\nMr Smith said at best, the inquiry uncovered questions about Ms Berejiklian's integrity and the notion of turning a blind eye to some very scant details that could qualify as dodgy.\n\nMr Maguire today admitted to keeping the Premier at arm's length about his dealings so as to not cause issues for her.\n\n'And this so-called accidental leak of private communications between Maguire and Berijiklian yesterday, on ICAC's own website, is not only appalling but makes you wonder how accidental it was,' Mr Smith said.\n\n'It's the kind of leak that's happened twice according to the Premier.\n\n'But the Corruption Commission seems to have appointed itself as a body which investigates not just corruption but a lack of integrity as well.'\n\nMr Smith said he still believed Ms Berejiklian should consider resigning.
