Sky News host Chris Kenny says Liberal Senator Simon Birmingham clearly “disagrees” with his own party’s policy after trying to explain himself on Facebook.

“The way the Liberal Party works is that you are free to argue against that position if you’re a backbencher,” Mr Kenny said. “If you’re in shadow cabinet … you must adopt the party position as your own and Birmingham is not doing that. “Either argue the case, the party position as senate leader, or quit the leadership position, and the extra salary, so you can argue your case.”
