A body has been found in the search for a 71-year-old man missing from Sydney ’s southwest last week. The body was found at Wollongong City Beach near Harbour St and Bank St about 8.40am on Thursday. Police began searching for Alan Crow on Saturday, January 18 when he was reported missing. He was last seen getting off a train at Wollongong and visiting a nearby shopping centre a day before.

He had left his home in Oran Park on Thursday, January 16, without his phone or wallet, making it impossible for his family to contact him. Police appealed for information on Saturday and again on Tuesday when they released photos of Crow. Police said Crow was seen at Sutherland Train Station about 8.30am on January 17 before boarding a Wollongong-bound train at Waterfall. “It is believed he walked south along Old Princes Hwy near the intersection of Boyle St, Sutherland,” police said.
