A Canberra doctor accused of sexually assaulting four young women will walk from custody next week, on the condition he is not left alone with any female staff or patients.
The doctor is facing 20 charges including rape, assault, committing acts of indecency and using a carriage service to harass.
The doctor was refused bail by the ACT Magistrates Court earlier this week after prosecutors raised concerns he may interfere with evidence stored on a remote server while it was being downloaded. But ultimately, Magistrate Glenn Theakston said his "hands are tied to some degree" and the court's main concern remained that the evidence was stored on a Cloud server and could be downloaded remotely.Magistrate Theakston told the court there was a "differential relationship of power" in the alleged offending and the victim was at "the whim of the defendant".
When the woman declined, the doctor allegedly replied, "Well, if I can't have sex with you, can I please kiss you instead?".
