Impact Investing Australia chairman Richard Brandweiner said the creation of a wholesaler was an important step before super funds became confident about investing in aged care or social housing.“It is like teaching someone how to fish, as opposed to giving them a fish,” he said. “The beauty of a wholesaler is it could be the key that reconciles the need to invest in ways that are mindful of long-term impact together with the requirement for returns.”an enterprise professor at the University of Melbourne, said a wholesaler would be “a really important ingredient to create larger pools of capital to invest in new models”.
