Police have appealed for information.
“A short time later, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a home on Rosannah Way, Cranebrook, where a man could be heard yelling in distress from within the premises,” NSW Police said.They called the police, who were also refused, prompting a forced entry from the Public Order Riot Squad over “concerns for the man’s welfare”.
Once inside, two men aged 40 and 55 were capsicum sprayed by police after allegedly hindering them further.Bystanders pulled three male occupants from the car, which caught fire after hitting a tree in Cranebrook.A 12-year-old boy with serious injuries was allegedly abandoned by two others using a shopping trolley as a getaway vehicle.The injured and distressed male, was then located and treated by paramedics at the scene.
He was transported to Westmead Hospital where he underwent mandatory testing and currently remains in a serious but stable condition.They were both charged with hindering or resisting police officers in the execution of duty, and granted bail to appear at Penrith Local Court. The 55-year-old man is set to appear in court on September 14, and the 40-year-old man on September 21.“Specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash as well as attempting to identify the driver of the vehicle.”
