Friends and strangers have been gathering in Kosciuszko National Park to search for Hadi Nazari.Friends and strangers have travelled from across the country to help search for a 23-year-old missing hiker in Kosciuszko National Park. Melbourne bushwalker Hadi Nazari and a group of friends travelled to the park on December 22 for a hike and were meant to return five days later. However, Mr Nazari became separated from the group when he went to take photographs at Hannels Spur Trail near Geehi.
Since then police and other emergency services have been searching the area, with almost 50 specialist search operators from across the state being deployed on Saturday.Friends, family and even total strangers have joined the search effort to find Mr Nazari in some of the most rugged terrain in New South Wales.Mr Jafari said the fact that so many friends had travelled to help the search was a testament to Mr Nazari's character. 'People are driving from Adelaide, from Sydney, from Melbourne; he's created a great group of friends and we're all trying to find him,' he said.Mr Yawari said about 10 of Mr Nazari's friends were part of the search, with more on the way as others had to leave. 'We have a hope that one day we will find him, we are so concerned, he doesn't have enough supplies.'Experienced hikers Muhammad Khudruj and Nour Barakat had been planning a different hike in Kosciuszko National Park for weeks but changed their plans to join the search.Riverina Police District Acting Superintendent Jill Gibson said the hot conditions had frustrated search efforts.
