An internationally notorious conwoman in her 30s has sparked a multi-agency investigation after presenting herself to a Sydney charity as an abused teenage girl.
Police allege they were told the girl was a foreign national who had recently arrived in Australia to stay with a foster family after fleeing abuse in her home country. Instead, police allege their enquiries established the 14-year-old who spoke in broken English with a thick French accent “was actually a 33-year-old woman” from Douglas Park, near Picton south-west of Sydney.
