Breaking: Melbourne and parts of regional Victoria are expected to be ordered back into lockdown for at least four weeks after a spike in coronavirus cases
The company is working with charities Foodbank and FareShare to provide freshly cooked meals and essential groceries to the tower residents, with the organisation pulling together 4500 bags of pantry staples and providing proteins and vegetables for over 14,000 cooked meals.
Ben from Putney in Sydney said he hoped the move would ensure the rest of the country will be able to open up their borders. "The worrying levels of community transmission we are seeing in Victoria cannot spread to NSW," he wrote. "If we continue to allow travel to NSW we will likely see more cases there and then, eventually in other states," she wrote. "It’s possible the border closure has come too late to prevent this. But, if successful, it is much more likely we will all be able to move around the country again in a few months."
Bob from Wangaratta, about 50km south of the NSW border, said he supported the closure as long as it wasn't too inconvenient.
