Breaking: South Australia will welcome travellers from NSW from Thursday provided no community transmission occurs today
NSW recorded just two new cases in the latest 24-hour reporting period, both returned travellers in hotel quarantine.
The state is on track for minor restrictions easing this Sunday including the opening of outdoor pools, childcare and some schools levels resuming and the allowance of public gatherings of up to five people from two different households. Poor record keeping by top government officials has made it nearly impossible to determine who made key decisions about the quarantine program.
"Had those answers had been available at the time, then perhaps we would have been able to take action at that time. But we didn't have those answers and that's why the inquiry has been set up, but be in no doubt, because I don't believe anyone in any position of authority is in any doubt, those mistakes are unacceptable to me and unacceptable to the Victorian community.
Notes from the meeting attribute to Mr Ashton state: “ADF will be assisting in the spot-checking process from what the [Prime Minister] and the Premier confirmed - in addition to the other states we’re trying to keep the ADF presence back of house - to prevent the ADF presence obvious to the community etc”.
