The ticketing company wrote to Australian customers saying personal details had been compromised.
Thousands of people have had their private data leaked in a “cyber incident” that targeted ticketing company Ticketek.
Ticketek said in the emails that information belonging to Australian customers had been taken from a cloud-based platform “hosted by a reputable, global third-party supplier”. It is unclear how many people were affected by the data leak. Ticketek says its website has around 1.9 million users a month and sells around 20 million tickets per year.
“I understand that the company has taken action to quickly identify and notify affected people. Where companies hold a significant amount of data, Australians expect that they look after it.”
