A dead shark was discovered dumped on a roadside near Currency Creek, south of Adelaide, Australia. Experts believe it was illegally discarded rather than being a result of illegal fishing.
Vicki Matchett, a resident of Currency Creek, south of Adelaide , found a dead shark on the roadside near her property. She initially mistook it for rubbish but realized it was a sizable shark, about 8 kilometers from the nearest beach. Experts, including marine scientist Charlie Huveneers, have confirmed that the shark was likely dumped.
The Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) has investigated the incident and stated that while both school shark and bronze whaler are legal to catch, the recent discoveries appear to be cases of dumping rather than illegal fishing
