After two years of pandemic-induced upheaval, the food scene is expanding fast in some of Queensland’s most popular holiday towns.is still buzzing, though a flurry of strong openings elsewhere in the resort town has taken some of the shine off the famed beachside boulevard.
Not everything on the menu is Italian. From a strong list of starters, the best dish at a recent lunch was a crudo of kingfish, beached on a fruity, coral-coloured peach gazpacho. Follow with a steak, perhaps, and a chat with the personable Matteo Galletto.There’s something for everyone at Eumundi Markets. Now there’s a great restaurant nearby, too.. They’re the lifeblood of the town, a rambling, bi-weekly celebration of everything arty, crafty, homegrown and homemade.
Add veteran chef Peter Kuruvita to the mix, and this café, providore, pizzeria, bar and linen-set dining room moves into the “must-do” category. If anything, Kuruvita’s cooking has only sharpened since he departed Noosa Beach House late last year.
