The developer of a nine-storey apartment building in western Sydney has been stopped from allowing buyers and tenants to move in after serious defects were discovered in the block.

The Lidcombe building, which remains unoccupied, comprises commercial spaces on the ground floor and eight storeys of residential apartments, as well as a five-storey basement car park.The prohibition order was issued to See Win Holdings Pty Ltd after Fair Trading inspectors found balustrade walls on the building’s rooftop level and first-floor balconies had been constructed without reinforcing.
