Dr Mosley also explained why drinking tea is good for the bones

Health expert Dr Michael Mosley, inventor of the 5:2 diet and author of the Fast 800, says eating your leftover pasta for lunch could help keep blood sugar levels down. He explained how cooking, cooling, and reheating carb-heavy foods such as pasta, rice, or potatoes will change their structure into resistant starch.

Dr Mosley tried the hack himself and ate pasta for lunch two days in a row, reheating leftover pasta on the second day. This led to his blood sugar level going up only half of what it had on the previous day. This has also been confirmed in various studies, including one by the University of Surrey conducted in 2021.Another study led by researchers at Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital in China also conducted a similar experiment on 200 people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease .

Dr Mosley, 66, also explained how tea could help reduce the risk of bone illnesses like osteoporosis. The plant compounds found in black tea leaves have multiple health benefits, including being good for the bones. Another habit that you might want to incorporate into your routine according to the health expert is walking backwards. This can improve your balance and mobility as well as your walk generally, with a study by Roehampton University also finding that walking backwards can sharpen your memory.
