Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has called for pro-Palestine protesters from a Sydney rally this week to be deported if they are identified as non-Australian citizens.

The Monday night demonstrations outside the Opera House, which took place just two days after Hamas’ attacks on Israel this weekend, saw the emergence of largely anti-Jewish sentiment as people allegedly chanted discriminatory slogans like “gas the Jews” and vandalised Israeli flags.

Peter Dutton has called on the government to deport anyone on visas that was involved in Sydney's pro-Palestine protest. Picture: NCA NewsWire / Martin Ollman “If there were people there who were on visas, they should be identified and have their visas cancelled. They should be deported,” he said.“If they were non-citizens, their visas should be before the minister and on character grounds their visas should be cancelled.”
