An emergency summit to discuss the food poverty crisis in schools is to be held at the Scottish Parliament.

The Sunday Mail has been campaigning alongside trade unions, teachers and public health experts for the introduction of universal free school meals across Scotland. “Instead of using precious public pounds on debt collection agencies and complex payment systems, we should be reducing unnecessary bureaucracy, reducing food waste and shifting the spend into what makes“The Education Secretary is a teacher and has already commended the campaign and agrees that young people should be involved in co-designing the future rollout of universal free school meals.
