A Queensland dog owner claims her pet corgi was "stolen" by a couple who were pet-sitting while she went abroad.

Carmen Pham, from Labrador on the Gold Coast, was heading overseas and asked family friends to look after her four-year-old pet corgi Haku until she returned. Ms Pham says she only left the dog in their care temporarily while she and her family went overseas to deal with a family matter. A Queensland dog owner claims her pet corgi was "stolen" by a couple who were pet-sitting while she went abroad.Ms Pham alleges the man who was looking after Haku took a liking to her amid the restrictions.

Ms Pham said at the time she was happy to leave Haku with their friend for a week longer, because the man was enjoying her company.
