Parts of Australia’s east coast and south face tough conditions again this week, with severe fire danger ratings and temperatures rocketing above 40C. See if you’re affected.
But with temperatures forecast to hit up to 43C in parts of NSW tomorrow, firefighters will face one of their toughest days tomorrow.
NSW Rural Fire Service commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons said firefighters were hoping to do some critical backburning before tomorrow. “Because we are expecting a return to another hot day, particularly Tuesday. “We’re expecting to see temperatures climb into the high 30s or early 40s right across parts of NSW, so a lot of work ahead over the coming days, particularly in anticipation of what’s expected.”
The bureau has forecast temperatures to hit the low to mid 40s in the Hunter, Central Tablelands and western Sydney on Tuesday.
