“It’s hard to describe Neil Kerley because he was just an icon of the game,” DiPierdomenico told SEN. “We all remember the time the great EJ came around the boundary for the last time with junior in the car, and when Neil Kerley and EJ embraced. Playing before the AFL era, Kerley played 265 games of SANFL football for West Adelaide, South Adelaide and Glenelg between 1952 and 1963, plus 32 state games for South Australia.
