Hundreds of fans who attended Elton John’s Adelaide concert last night are fuming after they were told their tickets were invalid.

Lunn and his wife ended up buying standing-room only tickets for $118 each when they were told their tickets would not allow them entry into the venue. These stories are all too familiar to many a concertgoer who’s used Viagogo, which has been described as a “scourge on the live entertainment industry” by chief operating officer of Ticketek owner TEG, Cameron Hoy.” and its competitors are using “scare tactics” to frighten customers.
“Of course we would love to have a better reputation. We’re misunderstood, and we need to do a better job of educating our customers and dispel myths about what it is we do,” Viagogo managing director Cris Miller told news.com.au in April. But many within the industry are trying to get the word out about Viagogo, with live acts publicly shunning the site.
